The requirement

Policies and procedures guide workers to facilitate supported decision-making about supports in the participant's home and daily life: allowing a reasonable period; identifying when it may be needed; asking whether and how the participant wants support; giving support in line with their will and preferences; responding to cultural values and beliefs; and identifying when more support is needed, including from an authorised decision maker such as a nominee.

The evidence to bring

  • Supported decision-making policy and procedure covering each required element
  • Participant decision-making support plans recording how the participant wants to be supported
